About this exhibition

Aboriginal Art from its greatest exponents is rarely seen outside of Australia. These extraordinary images drawn from one of the most ancient living cultures are perhaps today the most important and greatest examples of abstraction in the world today. This exhibition, from the collection of Peter Nahum, includes amazing pieces from such artists as Rover Thomas, Dorothy Napangardi, Dhuwarrwarr Marika, Emily Kame Kngwarreye and the exciting young talent of Samantha Hobson.

Content

The exhibition contains approximately 130 pieces, including canvases and barks. The exhibition also includes objects to accompany the art such as boomerangs and aboriginal spears. Dependent on interest, a catalogue may also be produced.

Size

The pieces range in size, with the largest canvas measuring w 2550 mm x h 2050 mm.

Fees and costs

The hire fee is to be confirmed. Venues will be expected to pay all transport and insurance costs. Please note the pieces are currently in Australia and require crating – however, funding from Australia will be sought to help transport and insure the pieces to the first venue.
